Icelandic Mountain Guides is the leading company in Iceland when it comes to setting the safety standard for outdoor adventure activities. Exceeding the requirements of Icelandic government regulations, every excursion demands a consideration of the following:

• Route planning, risk identification and mitigation 
• Communication and evacuation procedures 
• First aid and rescue procedures

We reduce risk further by maintaining a low client-guide ratio (the lowest in Iceland) and we employ guides that are trained to a very high standard. However, we are never complacent and, to ensure that our “best practice” approach is applied at every turn, we invest in an ongoing training regiment for everyone on the IMG team.

Travelling in a wild country is never altogether safe. However we firmly believe that through the application of our safety procedures and by investing in the personal development of our staff, we can minimize the risk to our customers well being.
